A brief overview of my work (up to 400 characters)
Ecopoetry is a long tradition and ritual of understanding the natural world and our place in it. “Ecopoetics” comes from two greek roots: oikos, meaning family, property and house; and poiesis, meaning to make. Together, we understand ecopoetry as home making; a process of creation and compassion and belonging. My role as ecopoet has been defined by the amazing teachers (both in person and in text) in my life that have inspired me to continue to write and continue to read even when life becomes difficult and overwhelming. Especially then. Poetry has delivered me out of strife and suffering and painful growth. I no longer see it as a hobby, but as necessary, vital and exposing.
