A brief overview of my work (up to 400 characters)
Judith Plant, together with her late partner Kip, is longtime publisher of New Society Publishers (www.newsociety.com), whose books focus on community resilience and renewal. A gardener-for-life, one of her greatest pleasures is sharing home-grown food with friends and family. For 26 years she has lived on Gabriola Island, which, like the Yalakom Valley and so many other B.C. communities, harbours pockets of resistance and renewal that continue to provide hope and inspiration in a challenging and changing world. She feels lucky to be able to feel 'at home' in both places. In May, her new book, Culture Gap: Towards a New World in the Yalakom Valley, will be published by New Star Books.
