M. S. Martin

I wanted to be an actor as soon as I could read the prose in the movie magazines at the beauty parlor in a tiny farm town in central Ontario. I started to write things down about the same time. Later when I was flunking out of high school as a complete under achiever I consented to attending the Ontario College of Art because I sure had no marks to get into university and I could draw. Never had a plan. I just lived my life as an experiment with a yearning for adventure and apparently the ability to take risks. I lived in New York, Los Angeles, London, France and Toronto. I spent a very short time as the head of screenwriting at York University in Toronto. I loathed academia and adored many of my students. I gave workshops at the Canadian Film Center, Praxis in Vancouver, The International Film School in Havana Cuba and Instituto cultural in Nicaragua. I acted and then edited films, then produced, wrote, directed and then I said ENOUGH of this shit and moved permanently to Mexico. Now I am writing a novel. I learned Spanish along the way and I am now fluent. I consider this my greatest achievement.
